Pharmacy First

If you have a minor illness, a pharmacy is the first place you should go for advice. You do not usually need an appointment and you can go to any pharmacy. The Pharmacist can give you advice for a minor illness and medicine if they think you need it.

The Pharmacy First service is available to any patient registered with a GP practice in Scotland or you live in Scotland.

When We Are Closed

If you have a non-urgent health issue when we are closed, please wait until we reopen or contact a community pharmacy. Community pharmacies can provide advice, support and treatment for minor ailments such as a cough, cold or sore throat, stomach complaints or aches and pains.

NHS Inform at nhsinform.scot also offers a quick and easy way to find answers to most common health questions, and includes symptom checkers.

If you think you need A&E, but it's not life-threatening, call NHS 24 on 111 day or night.
